Dr. Christopher McGarry, O.D. received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Bachelors of Arts in French from Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Virginia. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. McGarry completed externships at Langley Air Force Base Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, with Dr. Elliott Myrowitz in Baltimore, Maryland and at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has also participated in clinical research studies for glaucoma medications for Merck & Co. Dr. McGarry has been in private practice for over twenty years. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and pre- and post-operative ophthalmic care. He has considerable contact lens experience and specializes in complex contact lens fits, as well as general ophthalmic care. |
In 2016, Dr. McGarry purchased this office from Douglas Optometry and named his practice James River Eye, Optometry. The practice was previously owned by Dr. Robert Malatin.
Dr. McGarry is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association and the Richmond Optometric Society. In his free time, Dr. McGarry loves to golf and spend time with his wife and two children. |
